This March, I’m very excited to be working on Keegan Theatre’s World Premiere of PUSH THE BUTTON, a new hip-hop musical by creative powerhouse duo Drew Anderson and Dwayne Lawson-Brown of the Helen Hayes-nominated and Charm City Fringe-winning FROM GUMBO TO MUMBO.
I enjoyed participating in the 2022 workshop of this piece as part of Keegan’s Boiler Room Series, and the writers have come back with some new material and a ton of energy to push it forward into a full mainstage production. Almost all of the workshop cast has returned for this World Premiere production as well, so the chemistry is strong and we’re all having a terrific time in the rehearsal room!
In the show, a Hero and a Villain once again find themselves at odds over an alleged “Pushing of the Button,” while a Journalist seeks to find the truth of the matter and a Judge looks to take advantage of the seemingly easy case to launch his career… I play the Judge, a very fun role and one that’s been expanded in this mainstage version of the script.
