The Sound of Music

The Sound of MusicThe Sound of Music opened at the beginning of August and it’s been a satisfying run so far, drawing the largest audiences we’ve had all summer.  The Uncle Max moustache has been received very well, and the role itself has been lots of fun to play.

Obviously, the music of the show sells itself, but it has been particularly rewarding building some of the high-tension plot moments throughout the play that really amp up the emotional engagement for audiences.  It can be difficult to derive real-life, multi-dimensional personalities from characters known so well to all of us, but discovering and exploring those intricacies has made the role of Max very interesting and fun.  The final weekend of performances begins tonight, wrapping up for good on August 18th.
